Vulcain Service & Repair, From Cricket Alarms to Modern Divers
As an official Vulcain after-sales service center, we service and repair Vulcain watches, both current models and vintage pieces.- Cricket alarm movements: The Cricket’s mechanical alarm is a complication few workshops understand. We service the alarm train, the hammer and the resonating case back so the watch keeps time accurately and rings with its full, distinctive “cricket” sound.
- Complete overhauls: We disassemble, clean, lubricate, reassemble and regulate the movement, then test it for timekeeping and power reserve.
- Water resistance: We replace gaskets and seals and pressure-test Skindiver, Nautical and other dive models to their rated depth.
- Genuine parts: As an official Vulcain service center, we use only original genuine Vulcain parts. For vintage restorations, we can manufacture parts when originals no longer exist.
- Case, crystal and bracelet work: We replace crystals and crowns, refinish cases, and fit straps and bracelets.
- Written estimate first: We never start work without your approval.

- 1858: Vulcain is founded in La Chaux-de-Fonds, in Switzerland’s Neuchâtel mountains, by the Ditisheim family. It becomes known for complications such as minute repeaters and perpetual calendars.
- 1929: Vulcain wins a Grand Prix at the Barcelona International Exhibition. The win later inspired the name of the Grand Prix watch.
- 1947: The Cricket is launched. The Swiss National Museum describes it as the world’s first wristwatch with a built-in alarm that could be mass-produced. Its loud alarm became Vulcain’s signature.
- The “Presidents’ Watch”: The Cricket was worn or received by U.S. Presidents Harry S. Truman, Dwight D. Eisenhower, Richard Nixon and Lyndon B. Johnson, which earned it the nickname “The Presidents’ Watch.”
- 1960–1961: Vulcain enters the dive-watch world with the Skindiver (1960). The Cricket Nautical follows in 1961: an alarm diver with decompression tables on the dial, developed with record-setting diver Hannes Keller. Its alarm was designed to be heard underwater.
- 2011: Vulcain releases a faithful re-edition of the Nautical.
- 2022 to today: Under its revival team, Vulcain has reissued its icons: the Cricket (2022), the Skindiver (2023), the Chronograph 1970, the Nautical and the Monopusher (2023), the Grand Prix (2024) and the Skindiver Nautique GMT.
